What Are Used IBC Totes?
An Intermediate Bulk Container (IBC) tote is a reusable industrial container designed for the transport and storage of bulk liquids, chemicals, food ingredients, and other pourable materials. Standard IBC totes consist of a high-density polyethylene (HDPE) inner bottle encased in a tubular steel cage frame, mounted on a pallet base.
Used IBC totes are containers that have been previously filled and emptied at least once. At ABC IBC, we source used totes from trusted suppliers across the United States, inspect each unit thoroughly, and make them available at prices 40-70% below new container costs.

Our Inspection Process
Every used IBC tote that enters our facility goes through a rigorous multi-point inspection before being approved for resale:
- Visual Inspection: We check the HDPE bottle for cracks, UV degradation, discoloration, and structural integrity. The steel cage is inspected for rust, bent bars, and weld integrity.
- Valve & Gasket Check: All valves are tested for proper operation and seal. Gaskets are replaced if worn.
- Leak Testing: Each tote is filled with water and monitored for leaks at the valve, lid, and seams.
- Pallet Assessment: The pallet base is checked for cracks, warping, and load-bearing capacity.
- Cleaning Verification: We confirm the tote has been properly rinsed and is free of residue from previous contents.
