IBC Valve Types
The discharge valve is one of the most critical components of an IBC tote. It controls the flow of liquid from the container and must provide a reliable, leak-free seal under pressure. We carry three main valve types, each suited to different applications and flow requirements.
Butterfly Valves
The standard valve type found on most IBC totes. A quarter-turn handle operates a disc inside the valve body that rotates to open and close the flow path. Butterfly valves offer good flow control, are easy to operate, and provide a reliable seal for most liquids.

Ball Valves
A robust valve with a rotating ball inside the body that provides a full-bore flow path when open. Ball valves offer superior flow rates and are preferred for thick liquids, slurries, and applications requiring maximum throughput. They provide a tighter seal than butterfly valves.

Cam Lock Valves
Cam lock (camlock) fittings allow quick connection and disconnection of hoses and piping without tools. Available in various coupling types (A through F) to match your dispensing system. Widely used in chemical, agricultural, and industrial applications.

Caps and Lids
IBC tote caps seal the top fill opening and prevent contamination, evaporation, and spills during transport. We carry caps for all standard opening sizes with multiple seal options.
6" Screw Caps
Standard 150mm (6") screw caps with coarse thread. Available in vented and non-vented versions. Vented caps include a pressure-relief mechanism that prevents vacuum lock during dispensing and relieves pressure buildup from temperature changes.
8" Screw Caps
Larger 225mm (8") screw caps for wide-mouth IBC totes. The larger opening makes filling, cleaning, and inspection easier. Available with gasket seal and tamper- evident band for security.
Dust Caps
Protective dust caps for valve outlets. Prevent contamination and debris from entering the valve when the tote is in storage. Snap-on and threaded versions available for 2" and 3" valve outlets.
Tamper-Evident Caps
Caps with breakable tamper-evident bands that show whether the container has been opened. Required for many food-grade, pharmaceutical, and chemical shipping applications. Available in 6" and 8" sizes.
Gaskets and Seals
Gaskets create the seal between valves, caps, and the IBC bottle. Worn or damaged gaskets are the most common cause of IBC leaks. We stock replacement gaskets in multiple materials to match your chemical compatibility requirements.
- EPDM: General-purpose gasket material. Excellent resistance to water, steam, and mild chemicals. The standard gasket material for most IBC totes.
- Buna-N (Nitrile): Superior resistance to oils, fuels, and petroleum-based products. Ideal for automotive, lubrication, and industrial fluid applications.
- Viton (FKM): Premium gasket material with excellent resistance to aggressive chemicals, acids, and solvents. Rated for higher temperatures than EPDM or Buna-N.
- PTFE (Teflon): Chemically inert gasket material compatible with virtually all liquids. Used in pharmaceutical, food processing, and highly corrosive chemical applications.
Adapters and Fittings
Connect your IBC tote to any plumbing or dispensing system with our range of adapters and fittings. Thread adapters convert between IBC valve threads and standard pipe sizes, while hose barb fittings allow direct connection of flexible tubing.
Thread Adapters
Convert S60x6 or S75x6 IBC coarse threads to NPT, BSP, or garden hose threads. Available in polypropylene and stainless steel. Essential for connecting IBCs to existing plumbing infrastructure.
Hose Barb Fittings
Barbed fittings for connecting flexible hose directly to the IBC valve. Available in 1/2", 3/4", 1", and 2" sizes to match common hose diameters. Polypropylene and stainless steel materials.
